    Folders to disappear from Ancestry

Just received the following from Ancestry:
We’re excited to let you know that the New Ancestry® Messaging experience is live in your account. You’re now ready to begin collaborating with friends and family with this streamlined feature.

While we are happy to share our latest innovations with you, we recognise that you had folders in the old message centre. Unfortunately, the New Ancestry® Messaging does not support folders.

To help you transition without losing important information, we’ve added the ability to download your folders until August 31, 2020. Simply visit the New Ancestry® Messaging centre and click Download Folders to download your folders to your computer.

We understand that message organisation is important, and we are continuing to work on ways to improve this in the new system. In the meantime, we appreciate your patience and are happy to answer any of your questions at Ancestry® Support.
Many people who used the old message system did so while just doing plain documentary genealogy.
But it has been really useful for working out how DNA matches fit.
But it's going. Please be advised.

Their download tool does not appear to be much good.
I downloaded manually 73 threads from my folders.
Then I had their tool do its job, retrieving only 23 threads.
    That's only 32%!!

Will they be removing groups also? I don't want to lose my groups who are all very distant matches.

NO they will NOT be removing groups.
That is the fix they have proposed: if you already have small matches that you want to keep - assign them a group.
They will not remove any match that is in a group.
