    J1 has an almost hegemonic presence in the Gulf Arab states, but there are also plenty of men with J2, R1a, G, E lineages there.

    I wouldn't say they have a lot of R1a. Although the IE Steppe lineage trickled down into the peninsula, and even the Levant.

    I have a FTDNA match from Bahrain, called Al Balooshi, the last name indicates a possible via-Balochistan route.

    Yes any arab with the last name of al-balooshi or Balushi is of paternal baloch roots. Lots of Baloch in Bahrain and especially Oman.
