apparently its where you have the most living relatives? I got 50% Germany for both of mine, but nothing for America. go figure.

It's pretty weird: I have no connection with Germany, no relatives at all.

I answered some explanations and got this very quickly:

"Composition Breakdown
The first chart, Composition breakdown where is stated "British Isles", it is a region breakdown of where in the world your DNA is more common, but it doesn't correlates to a direct ancestor, as many population, such as in particular French and in general western europeans shows a degree of "common DNA" due to a common origin.
So, we would recommend reading this chart as "where my DNA pieces are more common", not as "where my ancestors come from".

Countries breakdown
The countries breakdown tries to determine the populations in modern countries that have a closer degree of similitude (mathematically speaking).
Your sample is not close genetically to any of our united kingdom, german or french samples, but as a mix of several of these countries, so that's why you got these countries breakdown.
Many of westerneuropeans populations are composed with a relevant "British Isles" percentage.
The algorithm to calculate the country's breakdown is a custom regression algorithm that is able to remove non relevant samples before the calculation."

this is all good, but they still split my southern ancestry between the Balkans and Iberia with only a little listed as Italian. my NW ancestry is still scattered all over northern Europe as well. they still have some fine tuning to do. I should add that I sent in more than one company's raw data and each is a little off from the other.
