New update coming soon - preview your results here!

You can preview updated results by pasting your account ID into this link: http s://www.ancestry.com/dna/origins/secure/tests/INSERT ACCOUNT ID HERE/ethnicity?version=2020 (get rid of space between the p and s in https obviously)

To get account ID go to https://www.ancestry.com/dna/insights/ (it's the long string of letters/numbers as the last part of your unique URL while viewing your page)

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

Looks like it's going to be much better for me. Going from 64% EWNWE, 25% Ireland and Scotland, 11% Sweden to:

48% England & Northwestern Europe, 29% Scotland, 12% Germanic Europe, 11% Ireland - finally getting rid of that ridiculous 11% Sweden and got my German back. I do believe I am at least part Scandinavian as I am 3.1% on 23andMe, but before this last 2019 Ancestry update I had 7% German and just lost it and my 2% Norway and Sweden jumped from 5% to 11%. So I knew that was wrong right off the bat, especially since my dad, mom, and brother who didn't have German all gained it in the 2019 update.

For me personally it’s better. Just getting Germany back is all I needed to see to know it’s more accurate. But surprised I have no Welsh now that they’ve seem to have made that a category. 29% Scotland seems high but I’m a fairly deep rooted southern American so could be... my moms side has the most recent ‘immigrants’ from Germany 1820s.

Here's my update. This is completely different to my current results.

    Current Results:
    95% Ireland and Scotland
5% England, Wales and Northwestern Europe.

    New Results:
    63% Ireland
    37% Scotland

If those results are accurate i'm quite content with them, as they break up Scotland and Ireland. I'm surprised I have no England though, not even a few percent.

It seems quite accurate for me, as my Ulster Scots is around 30%-40% of my DNA. I'm just wondering if it is actually going to come out and what area covers the Scottish geographic area? Does it come from Genetic Communities or our autosomal dna?

Seems also that 23andme are updating, hilarious how we have all been waiting on FTDNA and myheritage to do their updates and Ancestry and 23andme who have not said anything about updates have beaten them to the punch.
