    Now thats interesting.
Looks like a distinctively North Levantine variant , did you check with the Skourtanioti samples from Ebla and Alalakh?

No I haven"t. Only other match on FTDNA and YFULL is a Pontus Greek.

Theirs probably comes from that Arslantepe sample , check that one too. Though the bigger question is how this line landed up. How common is this line in Jats, it must be very rare I would imagine. I only see few scenarios, some Amorite trader/merchant who married a local woman either in the BMAC or IVC. Or possibly a back-migrated Mittani, though thats more far fetched.

Not very common at all, but there supposed to be around 50 villages in UP with similar surname, not sure if they are J1-ZS3698 though. We only know that the surname name have some similarities to Khyber Pass, Khabur River, Hebrew and Kabarda.

    Population J1-M267 %
    Chenchu - 2.6%, n =38
    Kashmiri Pandit -8.7%, n = 23
    Mahadev Koli - 2.4%. n = 41
    Sonakar - 7.7%, n = 39
    Sugali - 1.3%, n = 76

    Pakistani General Population -3.41%, n = 176

Each of these populations also has an above zero % of J2 men (whether J2a or J2b).

We should create a separate thread for J1 in Non-Muslim South Asians or J1 in South Asians that don't claim an Islamic expansion related foreign ancestor or something.

Yes create a separate thread for them.

    Sonakars are Sri Lankan Moors?

These are in low percentages among them, what is your idea as to how they might have got these lineages in their communities?

Do you have any information on their subclades?

In Chhattisgarh, Sonkars are OBCs. Tradionally they are vegetable sellers.
