So, you are looking for matches from more than MyHeritage. Ok:

Pure Swede: 12.7cm... on FTDNA and MyHeritage.

I don't have too many matches on FTDNA so it's really difficult to compare. I do believe I have more than this...

The matching has completed for my combined 23andme and AncestryDNA kit on GEDmatch.

I can’t tell exactly where my matches live, but the not obviously British, Irish and American seem to be 1. Russian, 2. Ukrainian, 3. Portuguese, 4. French.

I’ve been checking out an obvious Russian match. She has a very unusual Russian name and seems to be very Eastern European. But are we actually related?

    Overall: 25.1
    Longest segment: 9.9

Just waiting for the kit on MyHeritage to process. I hope the matches won’t be behind a paywall. I already paid once!

    Intriguing.

I recently read about segment lengths. How long are the individual segments? Apparently if they’re longer than a certain size it’s more likely that they are real.

I’m not very good at this matching business though.

I’ve tried to check for a connection with Southern Europe. Spain and Portugal tie in with a rumour and I did get Spanish and Portuguese on 23andme.

All these matches in Russia, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe aren’t expected. However, I want to know if we’re somehow related.

Here's another that could be interesting on GEDmatch:

    Portuguese name

    Overall: 20
    Longest segment: 12

But is it close enough to be real?

12 cm is enough to be real, it is a lot, most likely he is your real distant cousin

    Oh cool!

I might contact him/her. Maybe we can solve the mystery!

Yes, do you have Tier 1 on Gedmatch? This can help very much, you can triangulate all matches in chromosome, where your Portuguese match is and If on this segment are other Portuguese people who match you and this distant cousin, that means this segment is of Portuguese origin

Oh cool. Yeah I'm on Tier 1 for the combined kit. I had a play around earlier with triangulation. Will try again with that in mind.

A lot of my Norway matches match both kits! Some even match by the same amount on both. And I can triangulate their segments with close relatives!

    Examples:

    0.3% (23.6‎ cM)
    Shared DNA
    3
    Shared segments
    11‎ cM

    0.3% (19.6‎ cM)

    12.4‎ cM
