Thanks bro. I'll check your post in the Africa section.

No African ancestors that I'm aware of but I usually get North African or Iberomaurusian on some calculators. Recently I've seen Egyptian (on 23andMe).

My brother and mother's Africa red zones are primarily Iberomaurusian, but mum does have some Sudanic zones and my brother has some Western Sahara and Mauritania zones.

interesting to see it all visually.. seems to confirm the g25/admix calculator runs - rich in AASI for a Punjabi with a good dose of EEF. The South India + Mediterranean does make me wonder whether a Luso-Indian ancestor is possibility. It absolutely doesn't fit our oral family history lol, but the maps seem to definitely exclude a recent Iranian/MENA ancestor as i had previously thought..

You have to send to ph2ter (father?) for analysis.

Anyone have an interpretation of this? Should I take the Irish to mean elevated Steppe admixture?

That's the problem with these models. They are not intelligent enough, as such the components they tend to pick are random, for two persons, even if they are close relatives.

@pakistani im no expert in these things, but I would take the Irish to mean elevated EEF. My grandad had something similar initially (5-6% Irish), it later became 7% Italian/Turkish in the decomposition runs.

From what I recall your Harappa Med was very high right (6% if I'm not mistaken?) I think the Irish in these maps is capturing/reflecting some or all of that same component.

but i may be wrong, so happy to defer to others' more informed assessments.

I took the data provided by ph2ter and attempted to (manually) regroup and compare them. Not sure if I associated the samples to the correct regions. If anyone has some ideas please let me know
