Finally, in 1652, the palace Soranzo became the property of the Van Axel, rich merchants from Axel, Netherlands. They were admitted to the Venetian patritiate in 1665.

The wife of my dads cousin is from Molise, and she has mentioned a couple times about English having a presence there. I haven’t looked into it much however. I doubt that’s the only explanation but it’s something.

So I decided to play around with MyHeritage tools and compare my heatmaps with the new genetic groups... Seems like they did a good job this time (and I don't know why I even bother spending money on DNA tests since I only like the results when they tell me what I already know...). I didn't include the Brazilian part of the maps because it would reveal exactly where I live, because my family lives in the same town since the 1840's.

I don't know if anyone has seen it yet but they have a webinar for May 11 called "Latest updates to MyHeritage Genetic Groups" maybe they will put more functions or groups, on ethnic estimation I think they could talk about it starting July 13 , because as of this date the webinars do not have a specified topic yet

Instead my genetic groups are goods.
Yeah to be fare if your Ashkenazi had been real you would of scored an Ashkenazi genetic community on MyHeritage plus not scoring Ashkenazi on 23andMe confirm it's not real.. wouldn't look to deeply into FTDNA and that 1% Sephardic lol
FTDNA are probably the worst ethnicity estimate out there (basically a crude gedmatch calculator)

Even if it was real I doubt they can assign genetic group to somebody who's 1% or even 10% some ethnicity. For example there is no test, that would detect my Balkan ancestry correct, no test guessed Bulgaria, both 23andme and MyHeritage assign Romania to me, however on Gedmatch those segments look almost typical Bulgarian/Macedonian Greek by percentages of genetic components and distant cousins

With my 23andme raw data uploaded on Myheritage I have only 1 genetic group. Instead with Ftdna raw data I have 6 genetic groups.

Here are my 12 genetic groups, from FTDNA's raw data upload. I am from Brazil, and my known ancestry is mostly North Italian and German, with some Polish as well.

The site is written in Portuguese for me, since I am from Brazil. I will try to translate/explain the groups, just in case someone doesn't understand it:

-4 Northern Italian groups. 2 of them seem to be concentrated in the Veneto region, 1 on Trentino, and 1 on the Sondrio and Como area of Lombardia. Most of my known Italian ancestrors were from Veneto, with some from Trentino.

-3 groups based on Germany (''Alemanha'' in Portuguese)

-3 Brazilian groups. I am from the state of Rio Grande do Sul, and have many relatives in our northern neighbors of Santa Catarina, so these two make sense. I don't know about Săo Paulo, but the description of the group suggests it includes a lot of people from the same Northeastern Italian regions I have roots in, so maybe that's why.

-1 group based mostly on Slovaks and Eastern Czechs. I have no known ancestry from that region. Perhaps related to my Polish side?

-1 Southern US group. No idea why.

I like the Genetic Groups feature overall, but MyHeritage's ethnicity percentages are still awful for me.

yes but even a 1/3% of Ashkenazi (because of endogamy amongst the population) if its real will generate an incredibly higher amount of DNA relative matches in comparison to 1/3% shared DNA from a Gentile ethnicity population group. hence that small real Ashkenazi percentage will still most likely trigger the Assignment of an Ashkenazi Genetic communnity.(though most likely only at low confidence level).

I know people, who are 1/16 Ashkenazi, most of their matches are Jewish and they did not get any genetic group, which is related to this ancestry. Here in this thread are also people who got Ashkenazi groups, without any distant or recent this kind of ancestry. I am sure it does not work this way
