    Sudanese Ancestry?

While checking my 23andme results, I was surprised to see 0.5% Sudanese ancestry, since as far as I am concerned I am close to being 100% European. When I increase my confidence level to 90%, it goes into the "Trace Ancestry" category at 0.3%. How accurate is this? For more information, all of the Sudanese ancestry is located on my X chromosome (I am male).

23andme conflates minor amounts of Senegambian/West-African ancestry with Sudanese, often. Colonial American perhaps?

No Colonial American ancestry (with one exception) in my family tree. Additionally, most slaves came from West Africa to the American colonies.

You said your mother is Calabrian, some South Italians seem to have Egyptian medieval input so that's the source of the Sudanese.

I guessed that, but I do not have any Egyptian in my results. I previously had a small amount of North African in my results, but that entirely disappeared in the latest update. The only WANA I have is 1.5% Levantine.
