Mine is located on the same segment as a large S. Asian segment of mine. Not sure what to make of it. Seems strange...

One of those lines is from your mother and the other from your father, so they are from two different parents.

Theoretically... and quite likely, however, 23andMe does sometimes fumble their chromosome painting and switch segments between chromosomes. For example, I have a Somali segment now on one of my maternal chromosomes (not possible), and I used to have native american on my Somali, paternal chromosomes (definitely not possible, out of the question). Someone else I saw had 2 parents each of mixed backgrounds (like 50/50 of 2 components for both of them), but their chromosome painting indicated that one of their parents was entirely of one ethnicity, as was the other. But, yes, I would think that the Sudanese component would be associated with southern European heritage as opposed to South Asian for Markos

This is true. It's just a weird coincidence, I suppose is what I'm trying to say.

Not really through Egyptians. I would say more like a direct Christian Nubian in your case, since as a short glimpse about history of Islamic Northwestern Africa. The rulers Frequently relied on slave soldier armies in their conquests, including the Fatimids and the Aghlabids who controlled & were in great contact with Sicily and Southern Italy for extended time periods. These salves soldiers were employed from variety of sources including Markets. And at that time the Baqt treaty of sending Sudanese slaves for markets was active and exchanges in trade across North Africa were back and forth. On this matter there is a really great recent published article for it, depending on accurate historic perspective, where you can find here. Moreover as user Maroco noted, plenty of Muslim Sudanese do score Levantine. But it may have been not related necessarily to the former.

    Autosomal using ancient populations :
93% Late Period Ancient Egyptian, 4% JOR_EBA, 3% GRC_Minoan_Lassithi (Just another G25's Scaled results with a Suitable fit).

My parent is 0.3% North African according to 23andme, Gedmatch calculators read is as Ethiopian-like and Moroccan-like segments ( about 40% SSA and 60% Northwest_African ) . Interesting from where this ancient admixture comes from....
