LOL, Ramses being E1b1a was definitely not taken as gospel. I remember people complaining exactly the opposite, that everyone was swallowing Tut being the R1b but trying to turn Ramses into E-V22 or something. Really it's just an old crappy study with dubious results.

Exactly. The values are waayyy off. DYS392=17 is extremely rare and no E1b1a sample could ever have that value in thousands of years. I've only ever seen it in haplogroup Q
