here are two modern individual samples that work for me when modeling with German and Italian. These two for me give almost equal percentages. I don't know how they will work with the Irish modern individual samples but its a start.

    English:England15
    Scottish:Scottish1

    sample: firemonkey:Ancetrydnafm
    distance: 1.5428
    Scottish • Scottish1: 53.5
    Irish • Irish39: 39
    English • England15: 7.5

I took the English and Scottish you suggested, and added the closest Irish sample distance wise.

ok I went back and looked, this mix isn't working for you. but you see how you can add to the list and run them to see how it meters out for you. start with all Scottish/Irish/English individual samples and remove one and check the run. repeat until you find what works.

considering the huge amount of overlap that looks good and so does the distance.

while your distance is lower you are getting more fractured results by your ethnicities being broken down to smaller contributing groups. ideally you'd like to find three individuals that match your three ethnicities in about the same amounts. that said, I think a four person panel is more realistic as you have four grandparents.

this looks good for you from what you've said.

My known ancestry is English, Scottish and Irish with about 50/31/19% for them respectively
mind you, Ireland and Scotland have substantial overlap in certain regions.
