I think there could be an issue with the calls if two separate haplogroups have shared mutations. Some mutations I carry also occur in R1b, G and J1 even though I'm J2.

M172 - Defining mutation for haplogroup J2. Arose about 30,000 bce. Britain's DNA labeled this branch: Herdsman Farmer.
M410 - Defining mutation for haplogroup J2a. Arose about 26,000 bce.
CTS7683 - Defining mutation for haplogroup J2a1. Arose about 17,000 bce.
    L26
PF5088 - On FTDNA tree with descendant branches spread across Europe and Asia.
PF5160 - On YFull and FTDNA trees.
Z2396.1 - On FTDNA as an intermediate under PF5160. See also Z2396.2 in haplogroup G. See also Z2396.3 in haplogroup R1b.
    PF5197 - Found in haplogroup J2.
    PF5172
Z7314 Located on centronomic region. Found in haplogroup J2.
    PF5169
    PF5174
    S19231
S25338 Samples from South Asia and Middle East.
    Z6083
Z6082 On FTDNA and YFull trees with an example from Bangladesh.

Break the news to him gently...

Nah, that subclade checker seems very inaccurate, wouldn't rely on it too much. @Kirtan24

Can you run your brother's kit through this tool? Also rerun your kit through this tool again, it may be malfunctioning for some some reason.
