Brent, on the ph2ter's termic map, the MX265 shows the highest correlation with today's Serbs and Slovenes.

Overall, it is fancy that MX265 has almost 44% of polymorphisms that are characteristic of contemporary Poles and a paternal lineage that is particularly characteristic of contemporary Poles. So the M458 mutation could not have happened somewhere far away from Poland.

I found this old thread about M458 that I started from 2015. It's always interesting to read old posts. LOL.

In the OP is this graph, https://anthrogenica.com/attachment....2&d=1425174695. You will note the two main branches of M458 are L260 and L1029, with a minor branch - YP515. M458 is termed "Central European, as is L1029, while L260 is termed "West Slavic" because it is mainly found in "Poland, Sorbia (Lausitz) East Germany, Czechia and Slovakia, Croatia and Ukraine" (https://www.familytreedna.com/groups/r-1a-l260/about). YP515 is called "Masovian." This terminology has meaning. These clades are termed as they are for a reason.

Unfortunately, that seems to be some sort of custom SNP array with very low overlap with the ones most commonly used in population genetics.

I have aligned fastq files and called genotypes for some of the individuals listed as having only local ancestry from the Zakarpattia oblast. Here are their G25 coordinates.

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1v-y...ew?usp=sharing

Surprisingly they seem to be quite shifted in the direction of the Balkans.

That's weird, did you use the .vcf version? I read on another forum the samples from the vcf have 99% snps in gedmatch calculators.

How does the .bim file look after conversion? Does it have normal rsids?
