    MayflowerDNA.org wiki: Looking for collaborators

The https://mayflowerdna.org is a wiki, and as such, works best when there is a collaboration of researchers working together to add to the knowledge base.

The wiki has existed for about five years, and has steadily gained visitors to the site. However, currently there are only a couple of individuals who have contributed to the site.

The wiki is actively interested in adding collaborators. There is a bit of a learning curve for collaborators as the tools used to create and edit information take a bit of getting used to. As such, I would be happy to assist anyone in learning how to contribute to this worthwhile project.

While Family Tree DNA does have a Mayflower DNA Project, the FTDNA Projects pages limit how information is presented in their projects. As such, the Group Projects director for FTDNA is an enthusiastic supporter of the MayflowerDNA.org wiki.

The creator of this wiki works in the genetics field and has been very busy with the Covid-19 pandemic. He has stated where he has not been able to spend as much time on this wiki as he would like. This is yet another reason why we need more folks to assist in this effort.

Anyone interested may PM me for more information.

One quick note: You do NOT need to be a Y-DNA or mtDNA descendant from a Mayflower passenger to contribute (add/edit) to this project. You do not even need to know you are descended from a Mayflower passenger. What is required is the willingness to research the lines and learn the add/edit tools to the wiki. I find most of the DNA results either in various FTDNA Projects or in Wikitree, which displays when someone posts their Y-DNA/mtDNA test results onto the site and propagates the patrilineal and/or matrilineal lines.
