How is it that Liguria has the highest amount of North African dna of all Italy ?

This North African component is not that big, it is comparable to many Spanish regions. Yet on the Italian genetic landscape (outside Sicily), it is the highest amount visible. According to you, what could be the reasons behind it?

I thought the North African was highest in the south, and maybe in Sardinia.

When beginning a thread with an assertion of fact, many of the contributors here are good enough to provide a reference or other evidence in support. That is very helpful for those of us who are interested and eager to learn more, but may not be as familiar with the subject as some of the experts here. That's one of things I find incredibly useful about this site.

Perhaps western Sicily has a little bit more of it indeed. I Will add "outside Sicily").

I saw it on a recent answer on quora, written by Ygor Coehlo, in which he compared populations from Italy, France and Spain on a genetic perspective. He is not an a geneticist, but he knows a lot about it and uses rather well softwares of all kind.
Here is the link : https://qr.ae/pN4ea9
(The level of North African component, among others, can be seen in the graph included in the answer).

I don't believe Ligurans have high North African admixture.

I saw it in this answer written on quora : https://qr.ae/pN4ea9 (at the graph in the end, comparing the different genetic components of Italians, French and Spaniards)

Thank you for the link. I still find it very doubt full that Ligurians would have higher North African Admixture than southern Italians.

Ligurian average on G25 seems to score 1.4% Iberomaurusian/Taforalt, it is less than Sicilians and comparable to Eastern Iberians. Only Western Iberians have more than 5%. Considering that North Africans range from 45% to 20% Iberomaurusian, 1.4% Iberomaurusian means something from 2.5% to 7% North African admixture depending on the North African source.

I have no idea how Ligurians would have this type of admixture. Probably the sample has other admixtures besides Ligurian?
