    Finally Getting The Chromosome Painting

I just received an email from FTDNA stating that they will be releasing the chromosome painting feature some time in July. That was something I was looking forward to when they initially released their update.

    New updates coming in July

I just received this email from FTDNA, which I thought I'd share here as well.

    Family Finder Updates

A redesign of the Family Finder matches page for better navigation.
Improvements to the matching algorithm, potentially increasing matches for many users.
Improvements to the predicted relationship ranges.
    Improvements to X-chromosome matching.
Additional sorting, filtering, and search options, including for your shared matches' family trees.
New Chromosome Painter feature for myOrigins.

    Y-DNA Updates

A redesign of the Y-DNA matches page for better navigation.
Easily view a breakdown of the number of matches per marker level and the country of origin for your matches' earliest known paternal ancestor.
Improved sorting, filtering, and search options.

    New Help Center

Redesign of the Learning Center to improve navigation and quality of information. The new Learning Center will be called the Help Center.
New Help Center will include helpful tutorial videos.

    Website Performance & Usability

    Faster page load times.
    Improved website stability.
We've added tooltips throughout the platform for reference.
Links to the Help Center throughout the platform for when you need a little more help understanding results or navigating a page.

    Important Notes

As a result of National Geographic's depreciation of the Genographic Project, the FamilyTreeDNA Genographic Project Transfers page will no longer be accessible after June 30th. If you have any remaining transfers to upload, please do so before this date.
Please note, at the time of the release of the Family Finder updates, your matches' original match dates might be temporarily unavailable but they will be replaced with the correct date in the following weeks.
Ancestry on paper: English, Scottish, Irish, Welsh, Croatian, Ashkenazi, Polish and Māori.

I also just posted something about this. I didn't see that you posted something as well. I am looking forward to the chromosome painting feature.

We just happened to have posted at exactly the same time. I've merged both threads. I am most interested in the painting feature, along with a better matching algorithm.

Whether they run into "technical difficulties" like the myOrigins update, and have to push this back as well, we will see.

Me too. I just hope they can improve matching between different chip versions as well, but I'm not too optimistic about it. Let's see what they do, hopefully soon.

I am sure they need to change/update interface firsts.

I started this genetic genealogy hobby in my mid 40s and now I'm in my mid 50s. God willing, I may have 30 or so years left on this planet.

The powers that be, need to get their asses in gear and speed things along; so I can learn something earth shattering before I'm senile or dead.
