So a big chunk of France would be logical.

Curious to look your results too, as we're not so many french tested by Living DNA.
Sure you'll get something like 85% France and the rest in British Isles, the potential Germanic part absorbed by the previous one. Something like Tolan's results maybe in more accentuated.
A great improvement for us french guys (and girls) would be the partition of France in two parts at least, northern and southern; and why not in particular regions as they did for BI?

Biggest changement with this update is the english that increased from 3% to 15%.Balkan part is ok. Unfortunately it's not today that an algorythm can tell apart accurately the british Isles from others Western Europeans.

Well, at least they put me in the "Germanic" area and not to the British Isles or to Scandinavia entirely. Nevertheless, I have serious doubts as far details are concerned. The biggest percentage should be Northwest Germanic for all I know about my ancestry and according to estimates from other sources. And what they call South Germanic might be partly Celtic.

    My results:

    2020 vs 2021
    South Germanic 51% / 60.7
    Northwest Germanic 30.6% / 18.4%
    Northeast Germanic 13.6% /15.3%
    Finland 4.7% / -
    Scandinavia - / 2.2%
    West Russia - / 3.3%

Known ancestry: 92.6% German (66.8% North German), 4.7% Danish, 1.8% Czech, 0.8% Austrian, 0.1% Swiss.
EUROGENES K13: N German, N Dutch, DNK, SWE, NOR. Ancestry: Germanic 99%, Baltic 1%. LM: NOR, DNK, NLD, N-DEU, SWE.
    23andMe: NW Europe 82.5% (French/German 50.2%, Scandinavian 9.1%, British/Irish 3.2%), East Europe 11.5%, South Europe 1.5%. DNAL: NW Euro 81%, NE Euro 11%, Med 6.5%
    Y-DNA: R1b/U152/Z36/CTS4333, Thuringia 1634, probably Alsace 1552, -- mt-DNA: H

There were plans to do that on the One World project. I'm not sure how far along they got with the French data collection though, before it was abandoned. Agreed though, it would be nice to be able to partition all of the European countries more effectively. If memory serves academic research has managed to partition France into 4 regions, although I suspect the main issue with the French reference panel is that they don't have the numbers to achieive this level of distinction currently

I had two family members and myself tested at Livingdna but they accidentally wiped my results. They did send me 3 free tests but as I live in Australia the postage back is quite high. I've only just sent my test back and it cost $25 Australian to post back and that was the lowest cost I could get. God knows when it will arrive but I was wondering why would I bother if they aren't going to break Ireland down but with the updates above it looks like this is a possibility in the not too distant future. Maybe by the time my sample arrives it will get a better breakdown and then I might think about sending in the samples of my two relatives. It annoys me though that I have to go to the extra cost of postage when my tests were wiped.

Will you keep some British though? or will it all go into France?

IMO splitting France into four regions wouldn’t fix it. If it were me I would take samples from the most distinct region, I believe that’s the center, and adjust my maps for the overlapping regions to overlap France on their maps. Iberia would cover South France, ect.
Of course you could go the other way too and show the overlap on the four French regions.

I suppose it depends on what you were trying to achieve, but I think you are right with respect to their current set-up; the central region would be the most distinctly 'French'- like...... though I have a sneaky feeling that wouldn't do it, given their similarity to the Swiss, S.German and N. Italians, which are partially covered anyway.......I think I'd go with your 4 regions and then 'a wing and a prayer' approach..........
