Ancestry and 23andMe match up the same except for 23andMe giving me 0.1% Peninsular Arab. However, Ancestry is more detailed.

I feel like AncestryDNA is really good for Irish people... terrible for Americans without direct roots to Ireland with predominately NW European background. My Sub-Saharan African is spot on and remains at 90% confidence on 23andMe, and my mom keeps consistently getting 1% Senegal in her AncestryDNA results while maintaining 1.1% Sub-Saharan African on 23andMe. So I can at least say my trace ancestry on 23andMe isn't noise. I just wish Ancestry could fix Germany.. I'm not 14% Swedish & Danish.

I'm not sure, it's probably just the Scandinavian a lot of British people get. A lot of my ancestry comes from the former Danelaw.

I think we are just going to have to live with that, as 'discovering Viking ancestors' is too good a marketing gimmick for Ancestry DNA. I think Ancestry know the actual link to these places for most Brits (or Brit descended people) are 1000 years back and the actual segments in common must be very small, although it probably is the case that people with a lot of ancestry from the former Danelaw or Orkney/Shetland Isles have a lot more of them in common with present day Swedish or Norwegians.

It baffles me that 23andMe is so much better with Scandinavia vs. Germanic than AncestryDNA.. rather it baffles me that AncestryDNA can be so bad at it.
