    U152 > A274 > A275

    A274: 21387964 C to T

    A275: 13668489 T to C

    Found dowstream of U152*.

A274 and A275 are now available at YSEQ. http://shop.yseq.net/advanced_search...s=A274+or+A275

I have ordered both SNPs for vetting as A275 might be an unstable marker.

Its owner belonged to the sixth cavalry unit of the Equites Stablesiani. On the right side of the helmet cap it says 全tablesia VI'.

The U152 project now shows another Big-Y kit that is "A274+" (21387964 C to T).

Compared to me, he has got a GD of 30, which makes it an old SNP. I had hoped that some of my charactaristic STR markers would be an indicator for this particular subclade, it looks like that is not the case. But they might be an indicator for hopefully more than one novel SNP downstream of A274 > A275.

It is unfortunate this kit belongs to someone who is adopted. Oddly enough, he has a very Spanish last name (although it could be French or Italian), but he lists his paternal origin country as the Netherlands. This of course could have been changed when he saw that he was A274+, but I have no way of knowing.

I believe this kit used to have Ireland as country of origin, I think this was the location of his closest match. He is still flagged in Ireland on the U152* map.

The Spanish surname is interesting though, at least three out of four grandparents of 1KG NA19720 were born in Mexico. I believe this sample was also used in the International HapMap project, do you know if that project reported haplotypes?, I can't access the database atm.

S19861 is also available at YSEQ, I am positive for this SNP. The haplogroup isn't listed in the description.

The 1000 Genomes project did eventually provide some STR data for their samples, including NA19720. You can find the file here:

    Thanks Richard!

YSEQ completed my A275 test and I'm reported C+ (positive), so it looks like it is stable enough for individual testing. A274 isn't in yet.

My A274 result has been posted, T+ (positive). Both SNPs are stable enough for individual testing, and available at YSEQ for the U152*s out there who are willing to take a gamble.

Does anyone know if the UK10K project also reports haplotypes? The haplotype of UK10K_ALS5085946 could help me identify other possible A274's and A275's
