For my own Haplogroup, which is pretty recent (see below), it looks just about right. On the other hand, as I go back further in time, they all tend to look too young. When compared to YFull’s estimates or regular SNP counting techniques. I’m not sure why that is. Hopefully, they’ll release a White Paper explaining their procedure.

The celebrity/noteable is a joke (it's a P312 connection) but the ancients are almost interesting, even though they missed a bunch of known DF19 ancients (RMPR31, I17607, I26830 etc, and VK333 is practically a Big Y Match):

For J-L283, FTDNA's estimates seem to be somewhat older than YFull, though this appears to be the case with older subclades:

J-L283: 6200 ybp

For G-L91 it's also 2000 years younger than Yfull's estimation. Yfull is more stringent on which SNPs they use for age estimation and branching, that might be the reason. For J-L70 it's a bit older than Yfull's estimate though (2000 BC vs 1700 BC)

Yfull says Z43162 TMRCA is 1550 ybp and FTDNA says “Haplogroup R-Z43162 represents a man who is estimated to have been born around 1,300 years ago, plus or minus 450 years”

The major node above that:
R-Z43162's paternal lineage branched off from R-FT88174 and the rest of mankind about 2,500 years ago, plus or minus 500 years[FTDNA]
It’s too new for yfull: they have it in “live” but not with the age estimates.
The next one above that that yfull see is Z17112 with TMRCA 3100 ybp

Like others mentioned, FTDNA's dating appears to be closer to the present than Yfull's. I find Yfull's date to be more plausible, at least for my branch.

EDIT: I do like the "Ancient Connections" feature. Streamlines research, as this is something I used to do manually a lot.

So overall a welcome addition to the tool kit!
