Yeah I was hoping it would go down to $495, $595 is still too pricey.

Additionally, customers that have already purchased a Big Y test will receive a coupon for $100 off another Big Y! This coupon is valid through 6/17/2015 and can be used on any Big Y order. The best part is that if you combine it with the Father's Day sale, customers can get Big Y for only $495!

Contact the relevant Y-DNA project Admins, most probably they will coordinate the process of matching the coupons of already tested project members with the BIG Y new test particpants

    Rich,

What sort of price would be optimal or you? Within the project we'll have a number of "Coupon codes" which would bring the test down to $495, the question then can the project part sponsor a test after that.

Until it comes down to $200, maybe $250, I'll just have to sit it out.

It is pricey. I just wrote to my brother's closest Y DNA matches to see if they want to pool our funds like AJL mentioned to thetick. So far I have heard back from one willing to do so. I'm hoping the rest will want to.

We all have DYS447=24, and DYS449=30 in common, and it is what seems to set us apart from the rest. So I'm not sure if it will really matter. The SNP I tested my brother at YSEQ for recently was negative and therefore he would not be part of the Q-Y3030 branch that can be seen here in the updated Q1b paper. https://www.academia.edu/7117246/The...ome_sequencing

If anyone has a coupon they want to donate for a Q1b please let me know. Thanks!

I just got finished organizing some of my y-dna relatives to pool our money and sponsor one of our group for an upgrade to 111 markers. That was tough enough!

I have one relative that I know of who has lots of money, and he didn't get it by giving money away. Besides, he just isn't interested in dna testing, unfortunately.

Handling email has never been one of FTDNA's strong suits. The coupons should have bent sent per kit, but from what you say, may have been sent per email: I hope not.
