Are these new samples or some reanalyzed old samples? The Arpad study reanalyzed Afghan/Central Asian samples from an old study but only the Z2123 ones and theoretically someone could reanalyze the others for L657 what would really help us a lot

Why do some South Indians have z2123 ? It is being postulated that R1a-L657 population are comparatively heavier steppe than R1a-z2123 because R1a-z2123 took an Iranian route. Not very sure about credibility of this theory.

But I too think the Chhetti may be more Rajput and Jat like.
The Rajput, Chechen, Jat, Iyer, Pathan, M357 seem related (based on their STRs).

On the other hand we have very deep basal lines too in South Asia. Eg. in Andhra HG03790 (shared with a Kazakh sample), Tamil Nadu, etc.
Also Arlus' (Chattisgarh) line splits very early. YF086028 https://www.yfull.com/tree/L-Y46452*/
Is L1a2 related with ancient Takshakas of North-Western Punjab ? Chechens have strong clan exogamy despite Islamic faith, something similar to North-Western Indian tribes. Also, they are part of Greater-Caucasia, same region where ancient L haplogroup (Azerbaijan) was discovered.

    Haplogroup of Rajputs
    Nathawat ( Kachawa) - R1a, M2a
    Pawar (South-East Raj) - R1a, M5d
    Rathore ( Gujarat ) - J2,F1a’c (F1 is East or South-East Asian mt-dna).
    Manhas (Jammu) - Q1*, M42b

Z2123 is a common for Indo-Aryans and Kalash for example are entirely Z2123. I would say 20-30% of Indo-Aryan R1a is Z2123 but that Z2123 clades diverged before 2000 B.C from Iranic Z2123 clades.

R1a-z2123 is generally rare among Indo-Aryans of North India. Brahmins are mostly dominated by Y6 lineage and Jats(Possibly Rors too) are dominated by Y7 lineages. Though, one Khokhar from Punjab had R1a-z2123 lineage.
Kalash are Indo-Aryan but their population is small and limited to a smaller extreme point. Kalash also have higher frequency of haplogroup G which is not prominent among most indo-Aryan except some South Indian Brahmins. Though dominant Kalah lineage L1a2 is found among Rors and Jats.

Besides the Toda are there any other patrilineal tribal/clan based groups in South Asia that have a lot of J2a?

Can we tell if these individuals from Afghanistan on Yfull fall under the Iranic or Into-Aryan sub-clade of Z2123? Also any idea what's the dominant haplogroup among Nuristanis?

The Pashtuns quite likely fall under Indo-Aryan clades because Z2123 clades like Y47 and SK2031 (both wit TMRCA around 2200 B.C) seem to be common in South India and absent or very rare among West Iranics, Saka or even Central Asians (except Pamiri). The Afghan Uzbeks, Turkmens and Hazara seem to fall under rarer Z2123 clades closest to Z2123 clades in Iran and West Asia (so likely Iranic). Afghan Tajiks seem to have both Indo-Aryan Z2123 similar to Pashtuns and Iranic Z2123 similar to Afghan Turkics
