    J1 clades.

What branches belong to who? Arabs, Iranians, Europeans etc.
Don't know much about J1 M267 just that it's prevalent in the Middle east.

Use this one to get a basic idea how they are related. It’s missing a lot of branches but it’s better than nothing. https://www.eupedia.com/europe/Haplo...html#subclades

The closest term to describe J1 is "Semetic".

Perhaps such a case could be made in regards to distribution, however, J1 itself cannot be labelled as 'Semitic'; the quintessentially (proto-)Semitic subclades are all under J1-Z1853 such as Z1853>Z2331. If we were to apply a broad description to J1, 'West Asian' would be more appropriate in my opinion.

There are other old basal lineages in southern Arabia that are Semitic too that are not under Z-1853 such as L93, Y4067 including the much older J-P56.
