    What are Your Foot Roots

    foot.jpg
The attached photo was recently posted in a DNA group, but there was no DNA study done. What I suspect there are probably several specific mutation for each one of the different foot style. What's missing are Chinese, Indian to name a few.

So based on the photo, what are your roots? I am Egyptian.

Based on this chart, I'd be Celtic -- but maybe with a smidgen of Greek. Actually, the only difference between my foot and the Celtic foot in this chart is that in the chart the two smallest toes seem even with each other. Mine are not. As with the Greek foot, my outermost toe appears smallest (although actually it's more that it begins a bit further back).

EDIT: Should also add that I have the protrusion at the base of the big toe that's supposed to also be characteristic of the Celtic foot. Given that my ancestry is at least 1/4 British -- which in my case is actually more Scottish and Scots-Irish -- a "Celtic" foot would hardly be a surprise. (I'm also half German, but my foot is definitely Celtic and not Germanic. )

Besides British-German-Catalan, ancestry includes smaller amounts of French, Irish, Swiss, Choctaw & another NA tribe, possibly Catawba. Avatar picture is: my father, his father, & his father's father; baby is my eldest brother.

Any male or female Assyrians out there? I have an Assyrian female friend, she tells me none of the feet in the photo matches her foot.

Greek for me would be the best of the options available.

    Decidedly Roman. Hmmm.

I think I get my toes from my mother's side.

Judging by that drawing, I guess the Greek foot is what I have, since the two smallest toes on each of my feet are not equal in length as shown in the Celtic foot drawing. I don't have any Greek ancestry that I know about.

I think the Greek foot explains why it is well known that Greek cockroaches never take refuge in corners.

Something tells me this is more of a "Statue of Liberty" study rather than genetics. My first two toes are same length, the rest get consecutively shorter.

My second toe protrudes slightly farther out than my big toe, and toes three through five are like yours (consecutively shorter). Thus, for me, the Greek foot was the best of the available options.
