Feeling L21 Today or Perhaps L513

    Hello L513's

I am waiting for a Chromo2 test which is taking a while. Meanwhile I tested for 67 STRs. FTDNA has me as predicted P311. I have previously tested negative for U152 based on previous Hartley Group advice. My Hartley group has me as predicted U106 which I don't agree with. Today I plugged in my STRs into a spreadsheet called R1b-All_67STR_Haplotypes. I only used my STR values rates of under 2.0. I ended up with 10 hits. One 312+, Four L21+ and Five L513+. I suppose it would be possible that the P312 and L21's could be L513 if more testing was done. I was surprised that this seems to show that I am L513 despite what FTDNA and my Hartley group have me as. Hopefully what I think my STRs are showing me will be verified by the long awaited Chromo2 results.

This is what the results of my Excel Spreadsheet analysis showed. Sorry for the poor formatting.

As a follow-up, I'll try to post the actual results once they come in.

Another side story is that when I tested for 67 STRs I had only one match at a GD of 7. I tried plugging in his results into the same spreadsheet. However, with him, I didn't get the same clear results. The results were all over the place which is what I expected and didn't get for myself. I believe that he is estimated at U106.

Sorry, Joel. I just noticed your inquiry.

I'm the L513/DF1, CTS5396, Z249 (and a few others) project administrator. What is your 67 STR kit #. We've got a lot of well defined STR signatures with L513 so we'll see if you match with any. Sometimes even with high GDs there is an obvious fit.

If you are DYS406s1>=11 and DYS617>=13 chances are pretty high you are L513+.

    Hi Mike,

    Thanks for your response.

Yes, those were my numbers. When I plugged my numbers into the R1B spreadsheet, it seemed pretty clear that I should be L513. The large GD I had were to someone who was actually predicted to be U106, so that was a separate issue.

My FTDNA Kit # is 275990.

Hi Mike, I was playing with your L513 Excel Spreadsheet and it seems like I come up sort of close to f195094 Gambill and f271571 Phillips. I found Gambill under the colorized 513 Chart at "G STR cluster (Consider Big Y, S5668, S6365)". I didn't see Phillips - though I may have missed it. These 2 people appear to be GD of 6 and 7 from me. That being the case, I wonder why they don't show up on FTDNA as matches. Is that because they have different last names? I have just one FTDNA match and it is a Hartley of GD = 7. Thanks for all your work and spreadsheets.

    Hi,

I just got my results in from Chromo2. Fortunately, my guess was right as to L513 or I would've looked silly. I am S5668 and after that unclear based on the L513 Trees I've looked at. I appear to go out to the * branch at that point. The trees are a bit confusing as I haven't figured out how the BISDNA tree relates to the FTDNA or ISOGG Trees.
