FGC17297 (7893343) now available for test order (characteristic of Polish L47P Type?)

FGC17297 (7893343) is now available for individual SNP test order on FTDNA's Advanced menu. It may define the Polish pattern known as L47P Type; or perhaps L47P Type is slightly downstream from FGC17297 (but therefore FGC17297+).

One member of L47P Type (kit 116432, no relation to me) has already received an FGC17297+ result from FTDNA's test.

The R1b-U106 Project records three individuals who are FGC17297+. One of those is the individual Larry mentions above (who tested the SNP at FTDNA). The other two are from Big Y results. One of these individuals also claims a MDKA (Most Distant Known Ancestor) from Poland, while the second Big Y individual records a MDKA from Derbyshire, England.

EDIT (28 AUG 2014): We have just received another Big Y result for someone who is FGC17297+. While they have not listed a MDKA, their surname is certainly Polish.

Two members of L47P Type now have Big Y results. They share some additional SNPs more specific than those at the FGC17297 level:

    8224719 A > C
    8250772 G > A
    19484283 A > G

I have already asked FTDNA to offer an individual SNP test for 8224719, with the name Z17913. I have told FTDNA that this test should be able to reuse the primers for Z2963, an unrelated nearby SNP for which FTDNA already offers a test. Thus, FTDNA should be able to offer a Z17913 SNP test fairly quickly.

It is quite possible, even likely, that L47P Type will turn out to be rather precisely marked by Z17913.

The Z17913 SNP test is now available for individual order from FTDNA.

One member of L47P Type, kit 116432 (no relation to me), has tested positive for Z17913 by FTDNA's individual SNP test.
