For those in mtDNA Haplogroup K with HVR2 T199C:
You may belong to K1a4a1c as I am. Only 14 people match me for HVR1 & HVR2 at familytreedna.com. All who have had their FMS test (complete sequence) taken have been assigned to K1a4a1c. If you have T199C I encourage you to have your coding region tested and see if you too are a K1a4a1c.
I have contacted two of my American matches and both share with me A7298t, T5561C, as well as A1836G. A7298t & T5561C are unique to my complete sequence matches & myself (from looking at MITOMAP); and A1836G is uncommon. I'm really hoping a K1a4a1c will turn up that has these three markers, like us, but has some other coding region marker that we don't. With proven diversity a K1a4a1c1 group might get defined.

Well I'm up to 15 control region matches (HVR1 & HVRII) at FamilyTreeDNA, with 7 of those being full (control + coding) mtGenome matches.

Based on id prefix I assume my kit id was the last to be issued to a K1a4a1c haplogroup member by GEDmatch.
I see some 23andme kits have been found to have almost all the pertinent SNPs. Pity I can't contact them. My family kits there only come up as K1a4a1's, and that's a big haplogroup :-)
