He did a good job on the E.U. test. However in my opinion the Jtest came up a little short; more of a hit and miss affair.

As expected, best match around the Iranian plateau, then West Asia/the Caucasus and finally the peripheries of South Asia and South Europe. Seems consistent with a largely West Asian derived ancestry.

Well, most of the ancestry I've been able to trace is from the UK. However, more than 1/4th of the family tree is still a mystery. His grandfather had such a strange surname, that I can't find sufficient paper trails about him. It was likely Anglicized from something else, or misspelled/butchered too badly.

Considering how his DNA results consistently look, though, I don't think his grandfather's ancestry contained anything too exotic.

Polako has an improved file of population samples to plug into UCLA's SPatial Ancestry Analysis. I had trouble with extracting a file, but I got it to work with WinRar, thanks to the suggestion of AlexDeLarge.

    My Mom's Map:

Although my dad is of predominantly UK ancestry, with these latest Eurogenes runs, including the JTest, EUTest, etc., it seems like his ancestry from elsewhere is starting to surface a bit more, and pull him off of the island.

Also, as for my mom's spot on the map, it has her stuck on the Mongolia/Russia border, but it's still more accurate than the regular UCLA World run, which had her in the middle of the North Pacific Ocean (see below):
