    Neanderthal/Denisovan Haplogroups

Are there any neanderthal/denisovan haplogroups present in modern human populations? I am wondering this because we interbred with neanderthals and denisovans in our distant past so it would only make sense that a small number of us would have a direct neanderthal or denisovan ancestor.

I googled this and didn't find much, I was hoping someone could help me in figuring this out.

Neanderthal mtDNA haplogroups are completely different from those of Homo sapiens. I don't think any Neanderthal Y-DNA haplogroups have been published.

Through the endeavours of the Genographic Project and the outcome of all known human samples received so far, there is no indication that anyone alive has any Neanderthal (or even any form of non-Homo Sapiens Sapiens for that matter) Y-DNA or mtDNA.

What about what this guy's saying:

You believe him? That Neanderthal was female.

As far as I know, no-one has yet obtained a male Neanderthal genome.

This is the one I had referred to in post #4 above.
    There is indeed a Y .bam file - http://cdna.eva.mpg.de/neandertal/al...1000g.Y.dq.bam
"The genome sequence was generated from a toe bone discovered in Denisova Cave in southern Siberia in 2010."
    Can someone analyze.

If, the same sample, then Y is impossible:

We present a high-quality genome sequence of a Neanderthal woman from Siberia.

I just ran GEDmatch's parents related on F999902 & F999903 (the female Neanderthal & Denisovan respectively). Having children by close relatives was apparently not taboo.
    dp :-)

    F999902:
    Largest segment = 41.3 cM
    Total of segments > 7 cM = 651.7 cM
Estimated number of generations to MRCA = 2.2

    F999903:
    Largest segment = 14.8 cM
    Total of segments > 7 cM = 260.4 cM
Estimated number of generations to MRCA = 2.9

Does the discovery of the new half Neanderthal half Denisovan sample change anything regarding our understanding of Neanderthal and Denisovan haplotypes?
