I smoke about one cigar a week. Never smoked cigarettes - I mean I tried them as a kid but never liked them - but what I did get into was dipping snuff when I was in the Army because that's what you did and eventually kicked the habit when I was in graduate school afterwards because it didn't go over so well with that crowd. It was very hard to kick though, I need the nicotine patches to do it after trying and failing a couple of times cold turkey.

I used to smoke cigarettes and cigars socially very rarely but it never became a habit. Other things were a habit for a long time, but no longer.

Never tried. I was afraid to as a youth, and by the time I got older I was witnessing the devastating effects smoking was having on my father - a two pack a day smoker.

I stopped smoking around November 1967, after smoking properly from the age of 14. The reason for packing it up was, saving for a mortgage, to buy our first house when we married in March 1968.
I stopped firstly by telling myself what a waste of money smoking is, I decided to see how long I could last without a cigarette, every time I had the craving I would say to myself I'll go a little longer.
Now comes the hard bit, I worked shifts in a nuclear power station at the time, (in the 60s the UK produced more power from nuclear than the rest of the world put together, how times change) anyway one of my mates kept offering me cigarettes on the night shift and I kept refusing, after a couple of nights he said what's the matter with you, have you packed up or something, I said I might have and he said I bet you five bob you'll be smoking within a fortnight. Well I collected the five bob from him two weeks later, it was then I decided I would never smoke again. I can tell you it was the best and hardest thing I have ever done.

I grew up seeing my grandfather smoking, so it's something which is very repulsive to me, and i can't see myself starting it ever.

Yes. Try vapor. It takes away the craving, bad smell, and yellow teeth.

Nope, though I was peer-pressured into doing so as a teenager, but never fully succumbed to it in fact..thank God! I do not see any personal benefit to be gained from cigarettes/pot ttytt lol.
