Anyone have AA on rs1015362? Whats your ethnic background?

Just curious because according to SNPedia it is pretty rare in European populations. I am AA on it and of European descent. Wondering what others are?

hmm, says you can have versions C or T and I have CT-so how do you have an AA?
..I triple checked that it is the SNP you noted, in fact, I copied and pasted but something seems off

edit-so converted I am AG with 2-4 x's the risk for sun sensitivity (according to bored's chart)

    Mike

    PS
I was blonde as a kid and brown haired as an adult...I have no freckles and am blue eyed and very 'fair' or 'white' , but like many of Irish decent, I burn easily, especially if I hav'nt had much sun lately...when I was a kid out at camps on Lake Superior, I got some pretty bad sunburns several times, bad enough to get big blisters, which I think means a 2nd degree burn

Sometimes 23andme reports things differently than other databases. In this case A=T and C=G, so in my case I have TT. Thanks for the reply.

I am CC, but tan nicely. I don't burn and I don't have freckles.

I have CT at rs1015362 and my dad and uncle have TT while my paternal grandfather has CT. My mother and relatives on her side all seem to have CC.

I am CC according to 23andme so GG I guess. I'm South Asian. As per SNPedia, alleles at this SNP have the following significance.

I don't really have any problem with sunlight sensitivity though. I tan quite easily.

I think there are forward and reverse readings. fwd/T A/G and rev/B C/T but not sure why build changes aren't archived info.

I have CT at rs1015362. I see its the same risk with Rs4911414 with fwd/B G/T where I am GT.
    Rs4911414
    G;G) 0 normal
(G;T) 2 2-4x higher risk of sun sensitivity if part of risk haplotype
(T;T) 2 2-4x higher risk of sun sensitivity if part of risk haplotype

My Promethease latest run of my 23andme data shows:

2-4x higher risk of sun sensitivity if part of risk haplotype
    Magnitude: 2
    Frequency: 45.1%
    Repute:Bad
    References:12

    As per dbSNP:
"rs4911414 is a SNP near the ASIP (agouti signaling protein) gene on chromosome 20.
This SNP is one of a tightly-linked pair that increases the likelihood of an individual being prone to sun sensitivity, in other words, freckles and sunburn, based on a study of 6,000+ Caucasians (5,000+ Icelanders + 1,000+ Dutch). The odds ratios, presumably on a dominant basis, and at least in the largest population (Icelanders) for "freckles and burns vs. no freckles and tans" for the haplotype pair rs1015362(G) - rs4911414(T) is 3.91 (CI: 2.54-6.03) for males and 2.42 (CI: 1.52-3.86) for females, with an overall p=0.051.[PMID 18488028]

Based on a study by the same authors of 4,000+ skin cancer patients, this haplotype was seen to confer significant increased risk for cutaneous malignant melanoma (odds ratio 1.45, p = 1.2 x 10-9) as well as basal cell carcinoma (odds ratio 1.33, p = 1.2 x 10-6).[PMID 18488027] "

Man I don't know why I haven't got issues late in life because I always got sunburned as a kid swimming all the time.

So I'm the only AA or TT so far for the SNP. I am also TT for Rs4911414. I don't have freckles, red hair or pale skin.
