    Geno 2 -Say What?

Has anyone who has taken the Geno 2, and are L21, looked at their results lately?
I was always labeled Z290 which is an L21 equivalent. After going to the Geno 2 site I discovered I am now
R-V221. Who or what is V221 ? Have they gone off their medications again ?
Anyway could others check their results and give feedback ?
I actually belong to a newer subclade L21>DF13>FGC 5494 but wanted to check to see how L21 in general is being reported on the Geno 2.

Someone reported this on the ISOGG FBook page today. "I went from ''L21'' to ''R-V221'' From what I've seen V221, can be found on Y-haplogroup A, I and G. I'm completely confused now."

No one had an answer for him there yet. It is in a post about the New Genographic Y Chromosome Tree.

They sent an email this morning about some kind of update or something, so I logged in. My dad seems to be yet another one who's been assigned to the enigmatic R-V221. I just rolled my eyes, and logged out. I can only assume they're continuing to update.

    I'm also assigned R-V221

My dad's hasn't changed. It's still R-CTS2501, I guess because that is downstream of L21 (and DF13), and they already had that one in their tree.

I'm curious how much money Genographic has raised selling kits and how they have spent it. They are obviously not hiring scientists to analyze the data.

I keep thinking they had better leave L21 alone. The Irish are not going to be happy with changes like that. It would be like changing the word Celtic to Zamboni, because somehow it fits better.

I am also shown as R-V221, which is odd, given I'm DF49-- downstream from R-L21. Do FTDNA and the Genographic Project even talk to each other?

Changed from L584 PF7580 (downstream from L23, Z2103) to V221. This is same as what FTDNA had when they went to a newer tree few months ago - now changed to R-YSC0000072.
