It seems there must have been some results from a few Big Y tests in the YP355 group. I see a new SNP YP1120 has been listed.

Any thoughts if this SNP is still in the Norse area or is it possible that the time frame suggests Northern Scotland/Ireland or England?

I can't find the data on this newly-assigned SNP on isogg SNP index. What's the position of Yp1120 downstream of YP335?

Norwegian from Hallast et.al 2014 was under YP355 and had private mutations as listed in part of a draft tree attached.

Thanks for the study, I haven't read that one yet.

I only discovered the SNP from the FTDNA R1a1a group which classified me in the YP1120 group, which has been a change. I know of two members who tested for the Big Y and I'm ASSUMING that their results came in and hence the reclassification. Although I would suspect that it would be awhile until it's incorporated into the ISOGG tree.

YP1120, YP1121 and YP1122 are three new BigY-tested SNPs downstream of YP355 that are shared by #338188 and #292223. We suspect they are common to all YP355 members showing DYF395S1a=15.

Thanks. We will check whether any of those SNPs under YP355 have been found in the BigY-tested members of our project.

    Thank you Michal.

I won't be able to take the Big Y test any time soon.

Would you suggest that anyone with the DYF395S1a=15 marker to test for YP1120, YP1121 and YP1122 when or if they become available?

No, I would rather recommend saving this money for Big Y or for any other NGS-based test. Since YP1120-22 are shared by two quite distantly related members of cluster DYF395S1a=15 who seem to represent separate sublineages of YP1120 (named A and B in our project), I would assume that all members of subcluster YP1120-A(1) are positive for these three SNPs. Thus, ordering any of those new SNP markers would make sense only for some very atypical cases of DYF395S1a=15, like kit 154591 from another lineage named YP1120-C.

    Hello.
One of the participants in my project (kit 721843 Ochkas from Ukraine) received the result yDNA-37. With a 82% probability, it belongs to the YP1120 branch. His close match on 37 markers is kit 216379 Shepard (Seputic) from Croatia, which with a 73% probability is also YP1120.
