A calibrated human Y-chromosomal phylogeny based on resequencing

Just published by Wei Wei et al., they identified many new SNPs and dated the y-DNA tree. A calibrated human Y-chromosomal phylogeny based on resequencing (link). They have a large uncertainty range in their date for R1b but still conclude that it has a Neolithic expansion in Europe. I recall many heated debates on this subject at the old DNA-forums.

According to Dienekes, "all the R1b chromosomes belong to R1b1a2a1a1b [R-P312], so their shallow divergence does not reflect on the entire R1b haplogroup."

I tend to agree with Dienekes' view that the Rho-1 and Rho-2 estimates are probably more realistic, and support the ASD estimates put forth by Ken Nordtvedt and Vince Vizachero, as well as Anatole Klyosov's method, all of which put P312 more in line with the late Neolithic or Early Bronze age. The Rho estimates also have much narrower confidence intervals, which should be saying something.
