    z36-?

Just received my results from Yseq for z36:
    1974 DYS492 ChrY 17414283 17414493 12
    1974 L1362 ChrY 4961134 4961134 C-
    1974 L910 ChrY 4961084 4961084 T-
    1974 S206 ChrY 4961118 4961118 A-
    1974 Z36 ChrY 4961118 4961118 A-

I'm understanding i'm negative to z36 (and z56, as I'm DYS492=12). Am I right? How should I continue the quest?

Are you confirmed L2-? Do you have more STR results besides DYS492 ?

Are you reported R1b1b2a1a2d or R1b1b2a1a2d* at 23andMe? If you have the * you are negative for L2, if you don't have the * there is still a possibility that you are L2+. Some 23andme participants have got a no-call for L2. If you don't have the * you should check if you have results for L2.

    I have messaged Anglesqueville at 23andMe. I thought he was C on rs2566671 = R1b1b2a1a2d*. so I suggested Yseq.net and to test for Z36 after a DYS492=12 result.

Unfortunately if he has a no-call for L2 as you say mafe he could indeed be L2+. Not good if 23s V3 chip cannot even determine a L2-/L2+ result.

Is L2 available at Yseq or will it need to be wished? Also what are the chances of Yseq getting a no-call for L2?

    Thanks

Thomas should have no problem testing L2 at YSEQ.

I'm R1b-L2 and received a No Call for L2 on 23andME (I'm confirmed L2 through FamilytreeDNA). It doesn't seem to be an uncommon occurrence.
