A close family friends needs help tracking his maternal origin. It appears to be Native American, and James Lick mt-DNA program produce the following results:

    A2_Haplogroup.jpg

Markers found (shown as differences to rCRS):

    HVR2: 64T 73G 153G 235G 263G
    CR: 663G 709A 750G 1438G 1736G 2706G 4248C 4769G 4824G 7028T 8027A 8794T 8860G 11719A 12007A 12705T 14016A 14766T 15326G
    HVR1: 16153A 16223T 16290T 16319A 16362C (16519C)

IMPORTANT NOTE: The above marker list is almost certainly incomplete due to limitations of genotyping technology and is not comparable to mtDNA sequencing results. It should not be used with services or tools that expect sequencing results, such as mitosearch.

I have only included the first two matches because all the other three had mismatches, so I feel they are less informative. Any help as to the distribution of this haplogroup is welcomed!

I agree that the sequence belongs to A2m and that some mutations are missing. It is closest to the one below (from Ian Logan's listings):

    KJ446015(HGDP00863-Mexico) Zheng Haplogroup A2m 26-APR-2014
    A73G T146C A153G A235G T236C A263G C522- A523- A663G A750G
    A1438G A1736G A2706G C3107N T4248C A4769G A4824G C7028T G8027A C8794T

    A15326G G16153A C16223T A16240G C16290T G16319A T16362C T16519C

The distribution of A2m with 16153A is Central American (Maya, El Salvador, Zapotec, Nahua, Otomí Sierra, Otomí Valle, Mexican).
