37 Marker Test is available at YSEQ for $85

I did not know this and I am a YSEQ customer. For those looking for a less expensive alternative to FTDNA's regularly priced $169 37 marker test the YSEQ ALPHA BETA combo is $85. Advantages almost half the price and faster turnaround times. Disadvanatages--- not able to integrate with existing projects, although there is a project function at YSEQ. They also offer the first 18 markers as a stand alone (Alpha) for $58. I think alternatives and competiton is good. Somehow I missed this so decided to share here.

Perhpas if they had the demand we could get a 37-67 marker panel as well.

This is a good deal, like all prices at yseq. But str data is only useful when you can compare, yseq is only useful for snps in my opinion.

    Afshar,

I run several projects at FTDNA and also have data from those that tested elsewhere. Many project Admins keep spreadsheets that allow comparisons. For those like myself who sponsor alot of testing having more options and some competition is a good thing! But that does not mean I am giving up on my projects at FTDNA. :-)

worldfamilies.net has the possibility to manually include STR-haplotypes (PHP-CMS). Then there is Alex Williamson's "Big Tree" for R1b-P312 (PHP-System). Has someone a different but easygoing method to publish Y-DNA results dynamically (with some kind of CMS) on a webhosting?
YSEQ Alpha and Beta in the combined Alpha-Beta package are indeed a very good offer and I wonder if any Y-chr population studies would be interested to use this instead of a standard YFiler etc. forensic lab.
