Many Turkoman tribes were relocated from Northwestern Iran to Khorasan to protect the borders. I don't know the exact date or time but my family was one of them.

They also had non-Turkic tribes among them btw. I would start reading some Wikipedia pages if I were you.

Most Qizilbash in Afghanistan now are Persian speakers, There was a lot of Persian Qizilbash groups in Afghanistan. Some Qizilbash mixed with Hazaras to form alliances and because of common sect. From what I've heard, Qizilbash don't identify as Tajik.

The majority of them was made up of Turkoman and Tajik tribes. The thing is the Afghanistan Qizilbash dont identify themselves as Tajik at all.

Actually I think it depended where they settled. A lot of Qizilbash assimilated withihn the local population and even hid their true identity which was a Shia, to avoid prosecution. Some got pashtunified and seem persianized.
