Scots-Italian and Scottish midwife ancestors requested

Scotland's People has put out an appeal:

Appeal for information - Scots-Italians and Midwives
Do you have an ancestor who was a midwife in Scotland, or do you have Scots-Italians ancestry? If so we would be delighted to learn more about your ancestor’s life and experiences in Scotland for two forthcoming projects. Please get in touch with us at [email protected].

My mother is Italian and my father is Scottish. I don't know if you are looking for those that have a longer history of the mix, but thought I'd ask. Tried to get to [email protected] and it didn't work, so thought I'd find out more here.

I do not work for or with Scotland's people, but I'm pretty sure that what they want are details of any family of Italian origin that settled in Scotland. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italian_Scots

    Famous examples:

Exhibition at National Records of Scotland

    Family Portrait: The Scots - Italians 1890 - 1940

A hidden archive of Italians living in Scotland in the years before the Second World War is revealed in this exhibition. Come face to face with the Scots Italians, and discover documents, photographs and objects, plus specially-created graphics which put the Scots Italians on the map. An interactive version of the map can be seen here. A documentary project by Lorenzo Colantoni and Riccardo Venturi features contemporary Scots Italians and the landscape of Scotland.

Created in partnership with the Consulate General of Italy in Scotland and the Italian Cultural Institute, Edinburgh, and with help from the Italo-Scottish Research Cluster (Edinburgh University), the National Library of Scotland and the Transnationalizing Modern Languages (AHRC project). The exhibition is on show at General Register House 2 Princes Street, Edinburgh, from 3 December 2015 - 29 January 2016 (closed 25 & 28 December, 1 & 2 January), Monday - Friday 9:00 - 4:30, free entry.
