The $99 price is introductory. It could rise to $119 at any time. Most of these new SNPs are not yet on FTDNA's haplotree; rather, they will probably be added if encountered (and found to be reliable) during the first full run of tests. At least, that was the event sequence for the R1b SNP Pack.

Seven of my project's members received their results from the N SNP Pack yesterday. I already notice two problems:

    - M2783 always gives a negative result. In other words, the N SNP Pack's technology does not read M2783 properly even though both the Big Y and Sanger sequencing can read it. Perhaps this is because M2782, M2783, and M2784 are close together physically (3 mutations in 6 consecutive base pairs) and always occur together. FTDNA needs to be told to drop M2783 from the pack (if they can't fix the problem) but keep it in the haplotree.

    - Y11783 was (apparently) dropped from the pack.

Ten more of my project's members received results from the N SNP Pack today. Some interesting cases:

    - Polish #172478 tested Y4706+ Y4702- . The two country-identified cases of this on YFull's haplotree are Swedish. The Y-DNA Matches page of #172478 lists no 67- or 37-marker matches at all, so his patrilineage is unlikely to be a recent introgression.

    - Lithuanian #384622 and adopted #97451 tested L1025+ L551- Y5580- Z16981- FGC13372- Y4706- . On YFull's haplotree, they can only be either:
    N-L1025* (no known cases)
    N-M2783* (no known cases)
N-Y13982 (two known cases, testable at Yseq via phylogenetically equivalent Y14116)

Y13138 is apparently giving everyone a positive result (erroneously). YFull places it at the N-L1034 level.

    Comment of project admin :
Your N-SNP-Pack shows to you L729+ then CTS6380+(=L666+) and your terminal SNP Y3192+ =P43* So this result confirm our assume we planed last July. You will find your interesting and rare genetic location: http://www.kolumbus.fi/geodun/YDNA/SNP-N-TREE-FIN.jpg

Here is a discussion in Russian about similar results. You have P43-, but Y3192+. So, it may be a mistake in testing of P43, or a completely new sub-branch in L666. Could you ask FTDNA support to retest P43 to avoid mistake, or test VL67?

Yes, now I see. So, in N North Eurasia project there are you and #254346 (did BigY) with VL67+ and VL63-. And a group (#279858 did BigY) with VL67+ and VL63+. So, there's already some preliminary data showing that VL67 divides on at least two branches. To prove that more BigYs and their YFull interpretations are needed, at least one per subbranch. Please, consider ordering BigY (by the way, if you don't have a BigY discount coupon, you can ask on forums or project administrators).
