Try downloading the raw data (FASTA) and upload it to http://dna.jameslick.com/mthap/ to doublecheck the H2a2a1 call. It's a little suspicious that you basically are the same haplogroup as the Cambridge Reference Sequence (CRS) while you expect it to be T2b5. Perhaps it is as innocent as a glitch in their software or it could be a switch of samples.

I believe the H2a2a1 report is a software bug that has been reported elsewhere (check FTDNA forums), it should be able to be resolved if you contact the helpdesk. The FASTA should be fine and the tool gotten posted should show the right haplogroup.

Back in the Dark Ages, I tested with a company called Genebase. They said I was some kind of U4. After completing a full sequence test' ftdna said H1b1.
In those days, the HVR 1 looked similar for both haplogroups, I wonder if that's still true?

No, it was just hand picked for him as he is a really special customer for FTDNA.

At FTDNA I guess it still is.

H2a2a1 is rCRS standard, with no mutations. So maybe missing results.
