My father's mt haplogroup. Perhaps someone can shed some light. And while we are on the topic, R5a2 -- my maternal grandfather's haplogroup.

Markers found (shown as differences to rCRS):

    HVR2: 73G 263G (523G)
    CR: 750G 980C 1438G 1811G 1888A 2706G 3254T 3834A 4769G 5360T 7028T 8684T 8860G 10142T 11467G 11719A 12308G 12372A 12618A 13500C 14569A 14766T 15470C
    HVR1: 16207G (16519C)
IMPORTANT NOTE: The above marker list is almost certainly incomplete due to limitations of genotyping technology and is not comparable to mtDNA sequencing results. It should not be used with services or tools that expect sequencing results, such as mitosearch.

23andme V4. Then I ran it through the James Lick tool and posted it here.

Yes, all the 23andMe tests are incomplete, but you had the Big Y, I guess they removed the mtDNA data from the Bam file to make extra $199 on you, else you had more complete results today. The trouble is much less with the untested markers but lots with the no-calls, as it is supposed to be 120x high resolution test and there should be no no-calls there in my opinion.

G3834A and A16207G define a proposed new subclade U7a3b which includes several people from India and Iran who share a common maternal ancestor approximately 9000 years ago (the name of the new subclade might change when Phylotree is updated). The extra mutations 1888A, 3254T and 15470C are unique within this group and identify a new branch below U7a3b. From what country is your father's maternal ancestry?

My father's maternal ancestry is Kashmiri.
My maternal grandfather's maternal ancestry is unknown.
My own maternal ancestry is Chitrali -- A8a.

I am new here and recently got my results from the NatGeo's Geno 2.0 Helix Next Generation kit. As I troll thru this site I feel quite ignorant about all the terms, acronyms etc. So I decided to do a search in Forum on my maternal branch of U7a3 and I came across this and decided to say hello. Incidentally my paternal branch is R-L657.
