I heard he was J2-L228 (just J2 in other words). http://www.nature.com/ncomms/2016/16...s10326_T1.html

Did somebody checked his downstream SNPs? Could somebody kindly give me the link, please?

I'm resurrecting this thread as I've been noticing that qpAdm is detecting a wave of Kura-Araxes like ancestry in certain East African groups that is entirely absent in earlier neolithic pastoralists and in certain modern populations like the Maasai.

This lead me to try out modelling the early Bronze Age Jordanians as partly Kura Araxes. It seems like they can be modeled fairly well as a mix of Natufians, Levant_PPNB, and Kura-Araxes in qpAdm. Maybe some one more experienced can verify if this signal is real.

Left Populations: Levant_EBA, Natufian, PPNB, KuraAraxes,

    Right Populations: Anatolia_N_Published, Iberia_HG, Serbia_Mesolithic_IronGates, South_Africa_2000BP, Russia_HG_Karelia, Boisman_MN, MA1, CHG, Brazil_LapaDoSanto_9600BP

Levant EBA is something like this.
Levant Chl + something from Ubaid with extra Natufian + some amount of ancestry from KA.
J1 itself is probably from Ubaid.

It will be interesting to see what the main Y-DNA samples of both Ubaid and Halaf cultures are once they are tested
