Genes linked to higher Cancer risk?

I have not read the paper yet, but it looks like they do reference various genes so there's a chance some might be included with 23andme.

Thanks -- I haven't had a chance to look at it in detail, but 23andme does report on some cancer-related genes and perhaps on some SNPs that will later turn out to have associations.

'Aggressive' prostate cancer gene find

Men with prostate cancer and an inherited gene mutation have the worst form of the disease, research reveals.

The BRCA2 gene is linked to hereditary breast cancer, as well as prostate and ovarian cancer.

Now scientists say that as well as being more likely to get prostate cancer, men with BRCA2 are also more likely to develop aggressive tumours and have the poorest survival rates.

They say these men should be treated quickly to save lives.

BRCA2 is included in the 23andMe v2 chip. However, it doesn't seem to be used in their prediction for prostate cancer risk.

My risk there for prostate cancer is 33.3% vs the 17.8% average. Metastatic prostate cancer runs, interestingly, in my Y line. All men before me have died with prostate cancer, several have died from aggressive prostate cancer to the spinal column and brain.
