    mtDNA H7

    Hi everyone.

Was curious if anyone has any data regarding the spread of mtDNA H7?

As far as i can see it's spread all over Europe, West Europe(France and British Isles mostly), Scandinavia and East Europe (East-Central Europe more like Czech, Poland?), as well as moderately in South Europe.

    Anyone has more informations?

As far as ancient DNA goes, it appears early in the Neolithic in the Balkans and Central Europe and appears sporadically across Europe after that .

YDNA likely journey simplified : Battle Axe Culture > Nordic Bronze Age > Scandinavian Iron Age > Norsemen > Scots > probably Somerled

    Ancestry: English, Scottish & Irish

    Hi,

According to 23andMe and confirmed by James Lick's tool, my father's haplogroup is basal H7.
Ian Logan let me know that he also has the very rare mutation C13692T (he told me that if I managed to find any H7-C13692T that would be a close relative).
He is from the province of Salamanca (Western Spain).

I wonder if someone could have any clue on the origin of this lineage.

    Regards
    Fernando Sanchez
