    Today, there was a presentation on the genetic ancestry of the swordman found in the middle of a field in Janakkala, Finland. The man died around 1300 AD, probably violently, and there were two swords buried with him which belong to different historical periods.

    If the ydna of the Janakkala swordman is R1b1a1a2a1a2c1b1b1a3a1, according to yfull, it should be BY451, and it is under L21.

    L21 is very much centered in Western Europe.

    I could find some R1b1a1a2a1a2c1b1-CTS6919/S3689 matches on ftDNA but not any downstream matches.

    It'd be great if he is, but I'd wait until they release the data. Just about every ancient sample is positive for one L21 SNP or another.
