    BF1047725 extract23 with a modified SNP filter

    I noticed the sample had Y-DNA and MorleyDNA predicted it to be I1 I1-L759 (I1-CTS10140, I1-CTS10338) and yhaplo's result was I-CTS88 I-M170 I
I had a look at the paper - it's open access here https://www.nature.com/articles/s42003-019-0399-1

The paper lists Ble008 as sex XX rather than XY. So do you think that the Y-DNA I1 SNPs are false calls or that the authors of the paper got the gender wrong?

I assume they are right although I1 would fit nicely in Sweden

Were Roman aDNA results actually released recently? If so, which paper was this and is there a GEDMATCH kit out there yet? Reason I say to is because I keep seeing these cluster plots for Roman aDNA on other forums but can't seem to source the paper.

That PCA is from a yet to be published paper, so the samples aren't available.

However, keep in mind that this PCA isn't complete. It's missing several things:

    - an Italy_EBA cline from Northern Europe to EEF

    - early Italic speakers that cluster with and around Etruscans

    - other Roman samples that look even more admixed than those that are on the plot

From where specifically and what time periods are those samples from anyway that are appearing on the PCA?

Can anyone provide information if the Levant_LBN_Romans in the G25 spreadsheet are also on Gedmatch?
If so what their kit numbers are?

I was doing a one to one comparison between my kit and a few ancient samples just out of curiosity (definitely not all since there are so many). I have a few matches but nothing very high. I set the SNP window threshold to 400 and the cM minimum segment to 2 cM as I saw recommended somewhere (I don't know if that's actually right). My mum and I tested with Ancestry while my dad tested with FTDNA.

    M116026 RusPinega1
    Me: 3.8 cM
    Mum: 5.8 cM
    Different segments

    M143348 RusPinega17
    Me: 2.1 cM

    M515902 RusPinega9
Me: 5.8 cM across 2 segments (largest segment 3.8 cM)
    Mum: 2.8 cM
    Dad: 2.9 cM
    Different segments

    M482183 Saami1
Me: 8.8 cM across 3 segments (largest 4 cM)
Dad: 16.1 cM across 6 segments (largest 3.7 cM)
2 out of 3 segments shared with Dad

    M564203 Saami10
    Me: 2.8 cM
    Dad: 5.5 cM
    Different segments

    M109244 SaamiKola25
    Me: 5.8 cM
    Mum: 3.1 cM
Dad: 7.5 cM across 2 segments (largest 5.1 cM)
    Different segments

    F999916 LBK Stuttgart, Germany
    Me: 3.6 cM
Mum: 7.3 cM across 2 segments (largest 4.1 cM)
Dad: 31.7 cM across 12 segments (largest 4.6 cM)
    Different segments

    F999918 Loschbour, Luxembourg
    Me: 2.6 cM
Dad: 17.5 cM across 7 segments (largest 2.9 cM)
    Different segments

    F999933 BR2 Ludas-Varj˙-dűlő, Hungary
    Me: 2.7 cM
Mum: 8.7 cM across 3 segments (largest 3.3 cM)
Dad: 22.9 cM across 8 segments (largest 4.4 cM)
My segment is shared with my mum

    F999950 RISE493 Sabinka 2, Russia
    Me: 3.6 cM
    Mum: 2.4 cM
Dad: 5.2 cM across 2 segments (largest 3 cM)
My segment is shared with my dad.

The only samples that I match and a parent also matches on the same segment is M482183 Saami1, F999933 BR2 Ludas-Varj˙-dűlő, Hungary, and F999950 RISE493 Sabinka 2, Russia.

Edit: For the two Irish samples, I match neither M427312 Ballinahatty IrelandNE nor M232268 (Rathlin1 IrelandBA). My mum shares 3.6 cM and my dad 3.2 cM with Rathlin1 but could be coincidentally identical segments.
