Found the reference that I thought suggested Germany.

St. Jerome (who spent time in Trier) said the Galatians spoke the same language as the Treveri who's territory covered south eastern Belgium and western Germany with Trier in the middle. He also said the three Galatian tribes (Tolistobogii, Tectosages and Trocmi) spoke the same language but had different customs.

Thanks Charles. I've taken a deeper look and it looks like he belongs to the haplogroup:

    R-P312/S116 > L21/S145 > DF13 > DF21/S192 > S5488 > BY518 > FGC33060

    http://www.ytree.net/DisplayTree.php?blockID=1395

He is positive for all the mutations I've defined in that block, including the four palindromic ones. He is negative for all the mutations in the FGC33039 block, as well as unique mutations of kit Molloy (241611).

Does this mean the sample came from an Irish guy?

For those interested in picking through the relatively raw results against a few other DF21s, this sample has been added to the R-DF21 matrix. He has a lot of singletons not well represented in Big Y due the much higher coverage in these tests. The sample is labeled PRJEB9586-Unknown.
