Discovery of peculiar periodic spectral modulations in a small fraction of solar type

They cannot be generated by molecules or rapid pulsations. It is highly unlikely that they come from the Fourier transform of spectral lines because too many strong lines located at nearly periodic frequencies are needed. Finally we consider the possibility, predicted in a previous published paper, that the signals are caused by light pulses generated by Extraterrestrial Intelligence to makes us aware of their existence.

👽It would be astounding news if it were ETs, but I'll go with some strange chemical signal which has stumped the best brains.

Aliens, dark energy, dark matter, these are buzz words used in astrophysics, meaning 'NFI'.

A more sophisticated theoretical framework accounting for the observation that the universe is not exactly homogeneous and that its matter content may not behave as an ideal gas -- two key assumptions of standard cosmology -- may well be able to account for all observations without requiring dark energy. Indeed, vacuum energy is something of which we have absolutely no understanding in fundamental theory.'
